Image Tools
Remove backgrounds, upscale, compress, resize, convert and crop photos.
Which tool do I need?
Most of these run in your browser, so your photo isn't uploaded. The background remover and the AI upscaler are the exceptions: they send the photo to our server, process it and delete it straight after.
If a form rejects your photo, it's almost always one of three things: the file is too big in KB, the pixel size is wrong, or it's the wrong format. The tools below are grouped by which of those you're fixing.

Questions
- How do I reduce a photo to 20 KB without it looking blurry?
- Resize it to the pixel size the form asks for first, then compress. A 200×230 photo fits in 20 KB at good quality; a 4000×3000 phone photo squeezed to 20 KB will always look bad. The compress-to-20 KB tool does both steps for you.
- Are my photos uploaded?
- Not for most tools here: compressing, resizing, converting, cropping, passport photos and DPI changes all happen in your browser. Background removal and AI upscaling run on our server, and the file is deleted after processing.
- What's the difference between resizing and compressing?
- Resizing changes the number of pixels (for example 4000×3000 to 800×600). Compressing keeps the pixels and makes the file smaller in KB by saving it more efficiently. Forms often check both.
