Indian Passport Size Photo Maker: before and after

What this tool does
An Indian passport size photo is 35 mm wide and 45 mm high, in colour, on a plain white background, with your face filling about 80% of the photo. For online forms on Passport Seva and many other Indian portals, the digital file is usually a JPEG of 630×810 pixels between 10 and 250 KB.
This tool converts a photo you already have into that format. Upload it, line your head up with the guide, and download a 630×810 JPG that stays under 250 KB, or a sheet of 35×45 mm photos on A4 or 4×6 paper to print at home or at any photo shop.
The same 35×45 mm size is asked for by most Indian applications that say "passport size photo": bank KYC, college and job forms, driving licence, PAN and visa forms for many countries. For exam forms with their own pixel and KB limits, such as SSC or NEET, use the exam photo resizer instead.
How it works
The guide marks where the top of your head and your chin should sit so the face is 32–36 mm tall on a 45 mm photo. Drag and zoom until both match and your nose is on the centre line.
If your photo wasn't taken against a white wall, the AI background option replaces it with plain white. The print sheet fits as many 35×45 mm photos as the paper allows, with cut marks.

Quality explanation
Stand in front of a plain white wall in daylight, look straight at the camera and keep a neutral expression with your mouth closed. Remove glasses and make sure both ears are visible if possible. Passport offices want unaltered photos. Cropping and resizing are fine, but some offices reject photos whose background has been replaced, so take the photo against a plain light wall whenever you can.

Technical limitations
- At Passport Seva Kendras your photo is usually taken on site. A file or print is still needed for many related forms and for applying from abroad.
- The tool checks framing and size, not expression, lighting or glasses.
- Rules change. Check the current instructions on the portal you are applying to.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the passport size photo size in India?
- 35×45 mm (3.5×4.5 cm), in colour, on a plain white background, with the face covering about 80% of the photo.
- What pixel size is an Indian passport photo?
- Online forms usually ask for 630×810 pixels, JPEG, between 10 and 250 KB. This tool makes exactly that.
- How many passport size photos fit on an A4 sheet?
- With small gaps and margins, around 30 photos of 35×45 mm fit on one A4 page. Choose A4 in Print sheet to see the exact number.
- Can I change the background of my photo to white?
- Yes. Click Replace background (AI) and pick white. Some offices prefer unedited photos, so a white wall is still the safest option.
- Is 35×45 mm the same as 2×2 inch?
- No. 2×2 inch (51×51 mm) is the US size, used for US visas and India's OCI card. Indian passports use 35×45 mm.
