Video Tools

Trim, compress, convert and edit video files directly in your browser.

Which tool do I need?

These tools handle the common video jobs: making a file smaller, cutting it, changing its shape or format, and pulling out sound or still frames. Video is processed on your own device by your browser's built-in encoder, so nothing is uploaded and there is no watermark. That also means speed depends on your device, and big files take longer on older phones.

Choosing between the similar ones is mostly about what you want to change. To change the length, use the Video Trimmer. To remove part of the picture, such as black bars, use the Video Cropper. To keep the whole picture but change its output size, use the Video Resizer. To shrink the file without choosing settings yourself, use the Video Compressor, or Compress Video for Discord when you have a specific upload limit to hit.

For stills, Video to JPG saves frames exactly as they are, while the Thumbnail Generator adds a headline and exports at YouTube, Shorts or square sizes. Trim first and compress last: every second you cut is a second you do not have to compress.

Questions

How do I make a video small enough for WhatsApp or email?
Trim it first, then lower the resolution to 720p and compress. Resolution is the setting that saves the most, and the size you get depends on how much movement the video has.
Is there a file size limit?
The tools suggest up to about 500 MB, because your browser needs memory for the file. It is not a hard block, but a computer will cope with large files better than a phone.
