This free online PDF signature tool lets you sign a document three different ways — draw a signature by hand with a mouse or touchscreen, type your name and render it in a real cursive script font, or upload a photo of your actual handwritten signature — then place it directly onto any page. Whichever method fits best, the result is saved for the rest of your session, so you sign the first page once and reuse the exact same signature everywhere else in the document without redrawing or re-uploading anything.
The typed option deserves a mention on its own: rather than a generic italic font, it renders your name in one of several genuine script typefaces — Dancing Script, Caveat or Great Vibes — so a typed signature actually looks handwritten instead of looking like slanted body text. The upload option goes a step further for anyone signing with a photo of their real signature on paper: an automatic background removal pass detects the white paper behind the ink and makes it fully transparent, so the signature drops cleanly onto the page instead of sitting inside an ugly white rectangle.
Once a signature exists, placing it is direct: drag it anywhere on the page, and drag its corner handle to resize it to fit the signature line. A separate "initials" mode works exactly the same way — draw, type or upload a shorter mark — for the pages of a multi-page contract that only need initials rather than a full signature. For documents with several pages that all need the same mark, "Add to every page" places your saved signature or initials on every single page in one click, instead of repeating the same drag-and-drop across a 20-page contract by hand.
Everything — rendering pages, drawing, typing, background removal and placing your mark — runs entirely in your browser using PDF.js and pdf-lib. Your signature image is never uploaded to a server, which matters given what a signature represents: once it's created, it's embedded directly into the PDF you download, and nothing about the process touches anything beyond your own device.

- No. Everything happens entirely in your browser — your signature image and the file never leave your device.
- Can I reuse the same signature on multiple pages?
- Yes — once created, your signature is saved for the session. Place it again manually, or use Add to every page to sign every page at once.
- Does the uploaded signature photo need a plain white background?
- It works best against a plain light background — the automatic background removal detects near-white pixels and makes them transparent, so a typical photo on white paper works well.
- Is this a legally binding electronic signature?
- It places a visual signature image onto the PDF, which is sufficient for many everyday documents, but it doesn't provide cryptographic signing or identity verification — check your specific document's requirements if legal e-signature compliance matters.
- Does this work on password-protected PDFs?
- No — a password-protected or corrupted PDF can't be read. Remove the password first with a tool that supports it, then sign.
