Because JPG has no transparency channel, converting a PNG, WebP or GIF that has transparent areas normally leaves ugly black or checkered patches where the transparency was — this tool avoids that with a background-color picker that fills those areas with whatever color you choose (plain white by default, or your brand color) so every converted file looks clean and intentional, not broken. A quality slider with smallest/balanced/high-quality presets controls the size-versus-sharpness trade-off across the whole batch at once, and a live totals panel shows exactly how many megabytes you're saving in aggregate — genuinely useful when you're clearing out a folder of oversized PNGs before uploading them somewhere with a size cap.

Every conversion happens locally in your browser using the HTML canvas API — nothing is ever uploaded to a server, so it works the same on a phone as a laptop, handles as many files as your device can hold in memory, and is the safest way to batch-convert private or sensitive images since there's no upload and no server-side copy to worry about.
